Shorewood

This “Urban Suburb” just minutes from downtown Milwaukee is completely walkable, boasts top-notch schools, unique architecture, and a charming lakeside environment.

"The Falk Ruvin Team did a wonderful job generating demand for our home. We had an offer right away, and their team stayed highly involved through closing."

- Brian Helme, Shorewood

Welcome to Shorewood

Shorewood is a diverse and vibrant pedestrian and bike-friendly village along the shores of Lake Michigan, the first suburb north of Milwaukee. Incorporated in 1900, the name of the Village was changed to Shorewood in 1917.

Shorewood real estate is essentially a 1.5 square mile village. Here you will find tree-lined residential streets in a safe, semi-urban, and active community which is close to everything: the lake, a major university, open green spaces, and its own mini-downtown with eclectic shopping opportunities. In addition, downtown Milwaukee is an easy, short commute for those that want to access the city’s nightlife and activities.

Your New Neighbors

With a population of 14,000, residents of Shorewood include families, young professionals, and empty nesters – all with a strong sense of community.

What You Will Love

Shorewood real estate is mainly comprised of beautiful homes exuding character from the 1920s-1940s, a nationally-recognized school district, and is known for being a recreational haven.

The Oak Leaf Trail is ideal for biking and jogging. Atwater Beach and Park is a great place to watch the sunrise and enjoy the beach, public art, the playground, and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. More than 13 acres of village owned park land provide 3 major and 2 neighborhood parks which span both the scenic banks of the Milwaukee River and the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

The Shorewood School District is recognized for its excellence and is comprised of two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Shorewood High School was named a Blue-Ribbon school for consistently high test scores by the US Department of Education and received accolades from Newsweek, U.S. World News, and World Report as one of the best high schools in the country.

Local Places We Love

Shorewood has many fantastic spots for every taste and fancy, here are a few we love. Savor handmade truffles designed like works of art or signup for a delectable wine and chocolate pairing class at Indulge Chocolatiers, one of Milwaukee’s best kept secrets. For an authentic beer garden experience, Estabrook Beer Garden offers live music while you enjoy a refreshing beer and giant pretzel on the banks of the Milwaukee River. If you don’t want to leave your furry friend at home, Camp Bar, allows pets and is well-known for its variations of Old Fashioneds. Coffee lovers will adore the brew bar at Colectivo, while wine aficionados will delight in the extensive wine selection at Thief Wine Shop & Bar. Fall into a food coma at Hubbard Park Lodge with their Friday night fish fry and mouthwatering Sunday brunch.

When you’re ready to work off all that indulgence, Performance Running Outfitters knowledgeable staff will give you a free running analysis and the best runners for your running form. Then head over to the bluff at Atwater Park to enjoy the best panoramic view of Michigan Lake and test out your new kicks on the intense staircase heading down to the beach and crystal-clear water.
